The All-New RiZE Festival Is Looking Like This Summer’s Best Bet For Indie-Rock Lovers

The V Festival replacement has taken a turn towards rockier territory

God bless rock and roll. It really is the best thing in the world, isn’t it? Well, apart from sausage rolls. Those can be pretty great at times, too. Ooh, and egg and cress rolls. We can’t get enough of those. Oh, and did we mention ham rolls? Those are rather lov… Oh, give over, you know we’re pulling your leg.

Nope, if you ask us, there’s simply nothing better than loud guitars, leather jackets, and choruses the size of skyscrapers. Except, that is, when a festival comes along that dutifully crams all of the UK’s hottest indie-rock talent into one easy, affordable, and convenient two-day package. We’re talking, of course, about RiZE Festival.

That’s one hell of a line-up, isn’t it

Make no bones about it: if you’re an indie-rock fan, there are more than enough big names on there to make your heart start pounding faster than a drummer in a Blink 182 tribute band. From rising stars like Louis Berry and Tom Walker, to arena-sized heavyweights like Liam Gallagher, James Bay, Plan B, and Bastille, we think it’s fair to say that there really is something for everyone at this one.

If you’re going, we’re officially jealous; but, since we’re such lovely people – and because we know how hard it can be to choose who to see at a festival – we’ve still taken the time to go through the line-up with a fine tooth comb and picked out the acts you absolutely can’t afford to miss at this year’s RiZE Festival. It was tough, but we think we’ve narrowed it down for you – but, if you think we’ve missed off someone major, why not tweet us and let us know?

Liam Gallagher will be bringing the anthems and the attitude to the Friday headline slot

While Stereophonics and their stadium-sized singalongs will close the festival on the Saturday night

Welsh legends Manic Street Preachers will be tearing up the Main Stage on Friday

And man-of-the-moment Tom Grennan will be there on the Friday, too

Years & Years will bring their sparkly pop thrills to the 2nd Stage on the Saturday

And the ever-excellent Icarus will be tearing the roof off the dance tent on the Friday

Not bad, eh? If that looks like it might float your boat, you’ll be pleased to know that tickets for this year’s RiZE Festival are available now from the festival’s website.
