Hayley Williams Has Released The Second Installment Of Her ‘Petals For Armor’ Trilogy

Our Hannah O’Brien has given the new Hayley Williams EP a listen. Here’s her verdict:

Of all the tracks on Hayley Williams’ ’Petals For Armor II’, it’s Dead Horse that stands out. The intro is a voice memo of Hayley speaking about her depression; it is, albeit, brief, but it gives us an instant glimpse into the song’s lyrical content and the painful place it derived from.

We’re then thrown straight into the track, with the tempo turned up to the max and a brilliant, deep, and groovy bass line running throughout. Williams’ vocals are, as always, divine, with irresistible melodies running throughout the track before it reaches an absolutely unforgettable chorus. Make no mistake: the line “I beat it like a dead horse / I beat it like a drum” will be on repeat in your mind long after the song comes to its close.

It’s an instant favourite from this era of Williams’ career and we think that you’re going to adore it. So, without further ado, check out Dead Horse by Hayley Williams, taken from her new EP, ‘Petals For Armor II’:
