Hauskey’s New Single ‘Somewhere’ Is The Millennial Meltdown Anthem You Didn’t Know You Needed

You remember Hauskey, don’t you?

He’s the prodigal Australian producer behind such laid-back pop bops as Slow and Slow (Stripped). And now, he’s also the man responsible for his new single, ‘Somewhere’.

We could tell you that ‘Somewhere’ is a Millennial meltdown anthem that ponders the benefits of eschewing materialism and legging it to a desert island until you’ve managed to sort your mental health out. We could also inform you that it sounds like the stoned lovechild of Tame Impala and Still Woozy, with a healthy hint of HAIM thrown in for good measure.

Or we could just let Hauskey tell you about it instead.

I wrote Somewhere during week three of lockdown in Sydney. It was such an escape for me, that once I finished the first demo, I sat there for hours and just looped it over and over.

It’s as much about physically wanting to get away, as needing to get out of my own head and stop thinking about every single negative thing that 2020 has thrown at us. It’s a short retreat in a long year.”
