Amsterdam-based singer-songwriter HEBE delivers a touching acapella version of her new single, ‘Cards on the Table’, exclusively for One on One’s Selfie Sessions.
To celebrate the release of the Piano Versions EP of her last collection, Cards on the Table, Dutch singer and songwriter HEBE has recorded a stripped-back version of the EP’s title track exclusively for One on One’s Selfie Sessions. Isn’t that nice of her?
The Piano Versions EP sees HEBE stripping Cards on the Table‘s five tracks down to their bare bones, accompanied by only a piano and a Wurlitzer.
“All my songs are born around the piano in my house,” she explains. “When I started working in the studio with Huub Reijnders, Martijn Bosman, and Ruben Hein, we added all kinds of layers, grooves, and production sounds. With these acoustic versions, I wanted to show the way I wrote them: just me behind the piano, purely focusing on the lyrics.”
