And to in our minds, there aren’t many better pop stars than Gabrielle Aplin.
Not only has she spent the last decade steadily popping out bangers of both the Pure Pop Banger and #sadbanger varieties, but she’s managed to do so while retaining the sense of pure, songcraft-driven artistry that’s often left by the wayside at some point during a career that’s spanned three Prime Ministers, numerous questionable Eighties revivals, and more shoddy boybands than you could shake a Syco contract at.

Of course, it helps when said pop star has also managed to morph into one of the most consistently excellent live acts in the country, too.
And, of course, that’s something that’s true of Gabrielle Aplin. As anyone who’s ever seen her live will testify, Gabrielle is a festival mainstay for a reason. Not only is she able to boast an enviable catalogue of hits, but her vocal talent and multi-instrumentalism are guaranteed to impress even the most jaded of old-school music journalists. (And that’s saying something).
