Skepta is a staple in UK culture and one of the most internationally recognisable figures in British music.
It’s been a few years since we’ve seen Skepta on the live stage, and he’s confirmed that his only performance of 2024 will be at his very own Big Smoke Festival where he’s also curating line-ups for two of the stages.
Skepta is nothing short of a legend within UK music. Originally starting his career out on the pirate-radio circuit and performing at various MC battles, he has since become an international icon. Most of us would be satisfied with just one of Skepta’s achievements, but seemingly the man won’t stop. With countless global hits under his belt, multiple award nominations, and even appearing as himself in the popular video game GTA Online, his ventures continue. Most recently, Skepta has released his EP ‘48 Hours’ which, in collaboration with Ryder, shows a much softer side to the artist.

In 2023, he co-launched a house music record label called Más Tiempo alongside Jammer, who will also curate a stage at the event.
The festival will take place at Crystal Palace Park on Saturday 6th July 2024. The park is London’s original outdoor concert venue, with previous performers including The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and Pink Floyd.
“I’m gassed to finally announce that Big Smoke Festival is official..I’m so excited, it’s been a wild one to do this. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters, it’s been a couple years that you didn’t see me on a stage..I know a lot of people have been wondering when they’ll see Skepta at a festival and I really wanted to save all that energy and put it into something that was for us, by us. There’s going to be a live stage of all your favourite acts – anyone you know that’s affiliated with Skepta. There’ll be a live stage on one side and the Más Tiempo stage which will also be a full lineup. I might bust up one stage, fly over to the other one and link with Jammer. It’s gonna be crazy.”
