Here Are A Few Of The Classic Bangers That Nile Rodgers & CHIC Will Be Bringing To Hampton Court Palace, London This Summer

There’s only one Nile Rodgers, isn’t there?

Whether you know him as the dreadlocked maestro behind such modern-day hits as Daft Punk’s Get Lucky or the behind-the-scenes wizard who wrote (and produced) such classics as David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Madonna’s Like A Virgin, and Diana Ross’s I’m Coming Out, we’d challenge you to find a single person in the Western world whose life hasn’t been considerably improved by the music of the inimitable Mr. Rodgers.

.

But do you know what the one thing that’s better than growing up around the music of the funk-driven king of contemporary songwriting?

It’s getting to experience that vast back catalogue in a gorgeous live setting, played in virtuoso fashion by the man himself and a crack team of world-class musicians. And fortunately, dear reader, that’s exactly what you’ve got to look forward to if you head down to London’s Hampton Court Palace on June 12th, 2024.

You might be more familiar with Hampton Court Palace as a former stomping ground of Henry VIII; or maybe you’ve admired it from afar as a lover of mazes, tennis courts, and paintings from the Royal Collection. However, what you might not know is that every summer the palace’s formidable Home Park transforms into a world-class concert venue, hosting acts as varied as Tom Jones, Sam Ryder, Grace Jones, and Soft Cell.

But this year, they’re playing host to Nile Rodgers and CHIC – and we wouldn’t be One on One if we didn’t take the time to point out some of the generation-defining classics that you can expect to hear if you head down to the Palace on that (hopefully) sunny summer’s night, would we?

So, if you’re strolling down to the show, you’d better pack your dancing shoes, because you can expect to hear…

Material Girl by Madonna

Le Freak by CHIC

.

Notorious by Duran Duran

.

He’s The Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge

CUFF IT by Beyoncé

.

.

And a whole lot more.
