Unless you’ve been living under a boulder, you’ll know that modern rock titans Biffy Clyro are playing a supermassive headline show at London’s Finsbury Park in July.
And unless you’ve really been living under a boulder, you’ll know damn well that you have to be there.
Still unsure? Well, frankly, dear reader, we don’t think you’ll take much convincing.
But if for some reason you need convincing, here’s a list of reasons why you absolutely cannot afford to miss one of this generation’s greatest rock bands when they take to the stage in a North London park in a few short weeks’ time.
They’ve got one of the most under-rated discographies in modern rock
They’ve released ten – ten! – studio albums, and each one of them has been packed full of bonafide bangers.
From the earlier crunch-rock of The Conversation Is… and Who’s Got A Match to the latter-day balladry of Many of Horror and Goodbye, these Scottish lads have got a song for every mood – and they’ll be wheeling them all out at Finsbury Park.
.
They’re one of the best live acts on the planet
One of the brilliant things about releasing ten albums is that you’ll probably end up playing quite a few gigs along the way – which, in turn, means that you’ll almost certainly end up becoming a Very Good Live Band.
And that is precisely why you should not be surprised to learn that Biffy Clyro are a Very Good Live Band Indeed. They’ve spent decades honing their craft, and have graced some of the biggest stages on the planet – so, if you’re heading down to Finsbury Park, we can guarantee that you’ll be nothing if not entertained.
.
The support bill is absolutely insane
Nothing But Thieves. Don Broco. Marmozets. Waaves. The list of support acts for Biffy’s Finsbury show reads like a who’s who of British rock royalty. From established arena-fillers Nothing But Thieves and Don Broco to fast-rising upstarts like Marmozets and Waaves, anyone who heads down to this show is going to enjoy a jam-packed day of amazing music.
What more could you ask from a Friday in July?
.
Finsbury Park might just be the best outdoor venue in London
There are good venues, and then there are good venues. And after spending the last few summers hosting some of the best gigs that this capital has seen in years, we think that Finsbury Park falls firmly into the latter category.
Having been to a veritable plethora of shows there over the years, we know for sure that it’s a great spot to enjoy live music – and if you head down to Biffy’s show, or any of the other performances that they’re putting on this summer, we don’t think that you’ll find anything to complain about.
.
Biffy’s new album is ridiculously good
Have you heard it? Seriously. Seriously. The guys are on form. It’s bombastic, and intimate, and expansive, without losing any of the human touch that makes Biffy Clyro so great. Start with A Little Love, end with Two People In Love, and prepare to be emotionally ruined by Goodbye.
.
And they’re going to play Biblical
If you say it’s not a 10/10, you’re lying to yourself.
