It’s shaping up to be a brilliant summer for live music, isn’t it?
Sure, there’s no Glastonbury this year, but that just gives the rest of the UK’s festival calendar a little more room to shine. From the alternative-heavy chaos of Reading & Leeds to the family-friendly feel of Isle of Wight Festival, there’s no shortage of choice for anyone looking to spend a few days in a field this summer with a drink in hand and a (very) loud sound system nearby.
Still, if it’s a genuinely broad range of musical greatness you’re after, it’s going to be hard to beat BST Hyde Park.
.
Now a firm favourite of the summer season, the Central London series has earned its reputation as one of the capital’s biggest and best live music fixtures, bringing a run of heavyweight one-dayers to the city’s most iconic outdoor space.
And honestly, it’s easy to see why. Where else could you find yourself tearing up to Lewis Capaldi, dancing without shame to Pitbull, losing your voice to Duran Duran classics and taking a trip through country history with Garth Brooks, all within the space of a fortnight?
It’s a bit of a no-brainer, really. The only thing left to do is get yourself in the mood.
So, we’ve taken the liberty of putting together a playlist packed with the songs you can expect to hear in Hyde Park this summer. Consider it your pre-festival warm-up, your journey-in soundtrack, or simply a handy excuse to spend the next few hours blasting bangers.
