One on One with // Holly Drummond

How would you describe your sound for people who don’t know you?

It’s kind of indie/acoustic. I also write vocals for Dubstep and Drum and Bass, so I guess it’s a little bit of everything.

Your Cloud Nine EP is released in August – are you proud of it?

I am! It’s taken me a while to put it all together but yes, I am really proud of it. I’m excited for others to hear it!

What’s your favourite track on the EP and why?

Girl That You Don’t Know. I think it’s my favourite because it’s different to what I have done previously. It is more rock influenced than my usual songs.

Who were your main musical influences growing up?

The music I listened to growing up is nothing like the music I make now. I was into Good Charlotte, Evanescence, Fall Out Boy etc. – I still love it though!

Which song do you wish you had written?

Bones by Ben Howard. It’s just so simple yet so beautiful.

Who are you listening to a lot at the moment?

Ben Howard, Wakey!Wakey!, Kyla La Grange and Lana Del Rey.

What are your hopes for the rest of 2012?

I hope to play to bigger audiences and for my EP to do well!

What’s next for you?

I’m just going to try get more gigs and keep promoting my music!

Describe yourself in three words?

Individual, determined, creative.
