We really like Alex Maxwell. She’s a singer/songwriter from London, and she makes danceable pop music with hazy guitars and the sort of choruses that were built for daytime radio. This is her latest single – it’s called Lie To Me, and we think that it’s great:

Monika – Secret in the Dark
‘The riff reminds me of Stevie Wonder’s Superstition, and that’s definitely a great thing. Combined with her sultry vocals and those awesome backing vocals, it cuts to the groove instantly. A great sound to start a playlist with.
Alpha Blondy – I Wish You Were Here
‘An excruciatingly great reggae cover of such an epic song. Alpha Blondy has all my respect for this one.
Fleetwood Mac – I Loved Another Woman
‘Being a massive Fleetwood Mac fan (and knowing both Rumours and Tango In The Night back to front), I had to throw it way back with them this summer to when it was Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac. Classy, sexy, bluesy.. what’s not to love?”
