Stroud Indie-Folkers Low Chimes Have Made You A Playlist Of Their Favourite Tunes And It’s Great

She’s got one hell of a voice, hasn’t she

Meet Low Chimes. They’re a band from Stroud, and they released their debut album Illumine a couple of weeks ago. They sound like a cross between Of Monsters and Men and alt-J, and we happen to think that they’re rather good. Check them out:

They’re really not too shabby, are they?

Now, one thing that we’ve picked up over the years is that artists who make amazing music usually have pretty great taste in tunes themselves. That’s why we asked Low Chimes to make us a playlist of their favourite songs, exclusively for the listening pleasure of you lovely lot.

You can find the band’s full playlist at the bottom of this page – but first, here they are with a word or two about why they chose a few of the tracks:

Dirty Projectors – Cool Your Heart

David Longstreth‘s musical arrangements are wacky and wonderful.

tUnE-yArDs – Bizness

‘A feel-good track from a feel-good band – we dare you not to throw some shapes whilst this tune is playing! The music video is also a masterpiece of colour and dance.

This is the Kit – Hotter Colder

‘We are loving hearing this track every time it’s played out on the radio. These guys are firm favourites of ours.

Alabama Shakes – Sound and Colour

‘This song was played a lot during the recording of our debut album ‘Illumine’. Blake Mill‘s production style on the record definitely made its impression on our time in the studio.

Radiohead – Bloom

‘A hugely influential band for Low Chimes over the years. We witnessed them headlining Glastonbury this year and it was a life affirming experience.
