Meet The Elephant Trees. They’re a rock band from Leeds/Manchester, and they write the sort of high-energy rock songs that make you want to get in your car, drive really far, and not have even the slightest bit of concern about the way you are. If you’re not quite convinced yet, then you should try this for size – it’s called Monster, it’s their best song, and we think it’s ace:

Well, two of them have, but let’s not be too fussy here. After all, what they have done is pretty impressive: they’ve managed to take a roaring monster of a rock track, strip it down to its bare bones, and expose a layer of heartfelt sentimentality that we just didn’t realise was there when we listened to it the first time around.
