The Acid’s Jens Kuross Released A New EP Today And We Think That It’s Absolutely Gorgeous

If you ask us, this is his best work yet

You’ve heard of Jens Kuross, haven’t you? If you haven’t, we think that you’re seriously missing out. He’s a singer-songwriter (and member of The Acid with RY XAdam Freeland, and Steve Nalepa) from America, and he writes the sort of sad songs that make you want to lie in a dark room and have a long, hard think about your life. Like this one:

That’s not bad at all, is it

Like what you hear? Well, we’ve got some good news for you: Jens has only gone and popped three brand new tracks on t’Internet this morning. The three songs – along with his latest single, I Only Ever Loved Your Ghost – make up his new EP, ‘Art! at the expense of mental health, Vol. 1‘, and we think that it’s a pretty special collection.

It’s not a stand-alone EP in a traditional sense; instead, it’s the first volume of a three-part collection, and one that’ll all come together at the end to form a complete Jens Kuross album. If you ask us, that’s pretty cool in itself; but, what’s even cooler is the prospect of two more volumes of music that are just as good as this one.

After all, it’s safe to say that ‘Art! at the expense of mental health, Vol. 1‘ is a brilliant EP. It’s got piano ballads so raw and tender that they’ll leave you feeling like you’ve been simultaneously punched in the gut by the ghosts of every single one of the ex-girlfriends you hurt. It’s got experimental tracks, like the absurdly-catchy-but-you-can’t-quite-place-why It Could Happen To You. Oh, and it’s got a couple of tracks on there that are, quite simply, some of the most beautifully arranged (and brilliantly performed) pieces of music we’ve heard for a while.

We could easily sit here and wax lyrical about this EP for even longer – but, we think that it’s probably best for you to just check it out for yourself. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the gems you’re about to experience:
