These Are The 10 Acts We Can’t Wait To See At BBC Radio 1’s The Biggest Weekend 2018

It’s been a struggle, but we made it through another year

Guess what, dear reader? It’s that time of the year again. No, we’re not talking about May; nor, in fact, are we referring to that one weekend of nice weather that constitutes summer in this wretched country nowadays.

We’re talking, of course, about festival season. Yes, it’s been a while, but we’re finally here. The Great Escape is well underway, and the likes of Love Saves The Day and Dot To Dot Festival are hosting their respective bashes next weekend; so, we think that we’re going to go out on a limb here and say that Festival Season 2018 has officially kicked off.

There’s only one highlight of this month for us

Of all of May’s festivals, though, it’s fair to say that there’s one we’re particularly looking forward to. Care to take a guess? We’ll give you a clue to help you along: it’s arguably got the best line-up of sheer, all-out pop brilliance that you’ll find anywhere in the world this year. A line-up so packed that it’s enough to give a clash-finder enthusiast a sleepless night.

No, we’re not talking about Let’s Rock The Eighties. We’re talking, of course, about BBC Radio 1’s The Biggest Weekend.

Although there are a few editions of this festival taking place around the United Kingdom later this month, it’s the Swansea installment that we’re really looking forward to. Not only does it come packing a gut-wrenchingly good line-up of Actual Pop Megastars, but it’s also bringing some of the biggest stars from the Rock, Indie, and Hip-Hop worlds along to the city’s Singleton Park for the ride.

We’ve made the hard decisions so you don’t have to

Now, because we’re rather lovely – and because we know how hard it can be to pick between acts at a festival as good as this one – we’ve had a look through the line-up for you, and we’ve picked out our top ten acts who you absolutely have to see if you’ve been lucky enough to blag tickets for this year’s shin-dig. So, without further ado, we’d like to present you with the official list of Acts You’d Kick Yourself If You Missed at this BBC Radio 1’s The Biggest Weekend:

Taylor Swift will bring her reputation to Swansea on Sunday

Ed Sheeran will be opening the Main Stage on the Saturday

Florence + The Machine will headline the Sunday night of the festival

Indie-poppers Bastille will preview their new album in Swansea’s Singleton Park

Shawn Mendes will be showing you exactly what he’s doing this summer

We’ll never turn down a chance to see Years & Years live (and neither should you)

Sam Smith will bring the tears to the Saturday headline slot

The hotly-tipped Tom Walker will croon you to a melted mess on the Sunday

Sigrid’s going to be a megastar, so see her on the Other Stage while you still can

And Panic! At The Disco will bring their indie-kid-friendly singalongs to the Biggest Weekend
