INTRODUCING: Bristol’s Hush Mozey Make Drowzy Rock-And-Roll Music For The Modern Age And We Think They’re Great

If these guys aren’t on your radar, then where the hell have you been

Meet Hush Mozey. They’re a four-piece alt-punk band from Bristol, and they make reverb-laden guitar music that they like to label as ‘Drowzy Rock And Roll’. Frankly, we think that they’ve hit the nail on the head with that description: after all, their sound is reverb-laden enough to be classed as ‘drowzy’, and it’s certainly in-your-face enough to be quite comfortably categorised as ‘rock and roll’ – so, to conclude, we think that they’ve fucking nailed it with that one.

There’s seriously nothing to dislike about them

Do you know what’s even better than the fact they write some of the best everyman punk-rock songs you’re likely to hear this side of 1972? It’s the fact that they’re absolutely insane live. Like, seriously: we saw them a few months ago at a tiny venue in their hometown, and they absolutely killed it. The guitars were loud, the singalongs were aplenty, and there was sweat flying from the band and the crowd alike before it felt like even a moment had passed – heck, we’re willing to swear blind that even the walls were sweating by the end of that show.

Basically, we’re saying that you should check them out

Look, we’re going to level with you here: at the end of the day, you’ve got absolutely nothing to lose by spending a couple of minutes checking out the glorious racket that falls out of Hush Mozey. Hell, what’s the worst that could happen? You don’t like them, and you’ve wasted thirty seconds of your life that you’ll never get back. Oh no. How terrible.

If we know you, though, dear reader – and we’re fairly sure that we do – then we think that you’re not going to think of it as being a waste of time. In fact, we think that quite the opposite is true: we think that you’re going to love ’em. After all, how could you not? They write great songs and perform them with more vigour than a roomful of 40-year-old spin-class enthusiasts; oh, and they also happen to sound pretty damn good when they do so.

So, check out Hush Mozey whenever you get the chance, because we don’t think that you’ll regret it in the slightest; and, if you ever get the chance, do make sure that you see them live. We’re not sure if we mentioned, but they really are rather good.
