In normal circumstances, hearing a song like this would generally inspire us to say that the band – in this case, X Ambassadors – are back with a bang. In this instance, however, it’s more accurate to say that they’re back with a BOOM: after all, that is the name of their new single, which also happens to be an absolute monster of a minimal alternative rock song that arrives complete with subtle guitars, finger clicks, and the kind of chorus not seen since the Carly Rae Jepsen Imperial Phase of 2016-17.
