This is seriously worth checking out
Let’s be honest here: everybody loves free stuff. From the day you walked into your university’s Freshers Fair and left with armfuls of wristbands, pizza vouchers, and more free pens than you could ever possibly use – yet still, inevitably, managed to lose – to yesterday, when you popped into Ikea to pick up a chest of drawers and conveniently managed to leave with a free pencil, you’ve spent your entire life chasing the sweet, sweet sound of ‘Want one? It’s free’.
Don’t try to deny it, because we know it’s true. You’ve definitely picked something up in the past just because it’s free, haven’t you? Pfft, we know you have.
There’s new music in there, too
Well, dear reader, if you’re a fan of #FreeShit, then it’s time for you to hold on to your hats – we’ve got some good news for you. Your friends and ours at Failure By Design Records are celebrating five years since their first signing – that’s London/Surrey alt-rockers Swim Good, in case you were wondering – by making the band’s entire discography available to download for free. How nice is that?
To mark this storied occasion, the nice lads in Swim Good have also released a brand spanking new track. It’s called Heard Enough, and we think that it’s a storming piece of alt-rock goodness with pounding drums and the kinda chorus that’s guaranteed to get stuck in your head by the time you finish off your first listen.
When we asked Ryan from the band about it, he said: “This song was written during a particularly chaotic part of my life and served to bring myself back to the ground after I’d lost my way. The lyrics describe my brain trying to reason with my destructive actions. I’d wage a war in my own head for days, torn between doing what I knew was best for me and going against that better judgement masked as having a ‘good time’.”
That, dear reader, is what we call a serious issue; so, if you or anyone you know is going through anything similar, do talk to someone and get the help you need and deserve. Otherwise, make sure you check out the track if and when you get a spare moment – it is, after all, a bit of a banger. 🔥
