Scotland’s Own Pop Superstar Nina Nesbitt Has Made You a Playlist of Her Favourite Songs

We defy you not to adore this

God, we love Nina Nesbitt. Can you blame us? After all, there is a hell of a lot to love about her. Not only has she just released one of the most perfect pop albums of the last twelve months, but she’s also single-handedly managed to make sounding like a cross between Justin Timberlake and an early-2000’s Nelly cool again. That, dear reader, is what we call a skill.

This playlist may well end up being the best you have, actually

Now, if there’s one thing we know about people who make amazing music, it’s that they tend to have pretty great taste in tunes themselves. That’s why we couldn’t resist asking Nina Nesbitt whether she’d mind putting together a playlist of her favourite tracks, exclusively for One on One; and, why we were oh-so-delighted when she said yes.

You can find Nina‘s full playlist at the bottom of this page – but, to whet your appetite, here she is to tell you a little bit about why she picked out some of the tracks from her carefully curated selection…

Nina Nesbitt – The Best You Had

‘I think this song is a good introduction to me as an artist. It’s one of my favourites from the record and seems to be the song that connects with people most.

Ms. Lauryn Hill – Doo-Wop (That Thing)

‘I love how savage the lyrics are in this song and how honest they are. It’s also just such a banger. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of my favourite timeless albums.

Billie Eilish – Bad Guy

‘I love her whole debut album. It feels fresh and I love that her brother and her made it together. This is one of my favourite songs from it.

Ariana Grande – thank u, next

‘This song is one of my favourite moments in pop from the last few years. The video was iconic.

Rosalia – Malamente

Rosalia is a new artist that I’m most excited about. I unfortunately don’t understand any of the lyrics, but the melodies really drew me in and I absolutely love the tone of her voice. It makes me wanna learn Spanish.

Chet Baker – I Fall In Love Too Easily

‘This is a timeless classic favourite of mine. Simple and calming to listen to.
