He’s the lead singer and songwriter of Bristol-based drowsy rock and/or rollers, Hush Mozey. They make the kind of amped-up indie music that gets Pete Doherty out of bed in the morning and we think they/

Oh, and they sometimes pop out whisper-quiet acoustic ballads that absolutely pop off by the end, too. Like this one. 👇🏽

 

 

The thing is, Joe doesn’t just make that kind of music.

He’s also got his own solo career; and, in what should come as no surprise to anybody, his solo songs are also Very Good Indeed. Take a pinch of Pete Doherty, throw in a handful of Bob Dylan, and sprinkle in a bucketload of the kind of English charm that most believed to have died out in The Great Indie Landfill Amnesty of 2007, and you’re on the right track.

Joe’s just released his debut solo single, Ten Pounds, and we think that it’s excellent – so, naturally, we couldn’t resist asking him to record a special stripped-back version for our Selfie Sessions. Fortunately, he obliged, and he did so in style.
