Alfie Templeman’s New EP, ‘Happiness in Liquid Form’, Is A Tantalising Offering From The Hotly Tipped Teen

Meet Alfie Templeman.

He’s a 17-year-old singer-songwriter from Bedfordshire and he produces the kind of insatiably catchy indie-pop songs that make you long for the day that we’re once again able to go and get pissed at the local indie disco.

Like this one, for instance. It’s called Obvious Guy and it’s precisely the kind of toe-tapping indie-pop bop that Two Door Cinema Club have been trying to remember how to write since they released their third album. 🕺

Do you like what you’re hearing?

If you do, then we’ve got some good news for you: there’s a whole lot more where that came from. Alfie’s just plonked out his third EP, ‘Happiness in Liquid Form’, and it’s our cheery duty to report that it’s absolutely bloody brilliant.

We could tell you that it takes all of the best bits of modern Indie and wraps it in a contemporary pop sheen. We could also shout about how we think that Alfie’s one of the most exciting young voices in modern British music. And we could even nag you, repeatedly, to just give it a moment of your time so we don’t have to keep banging on about how Alfie Templeman is the future of British Indie.

Or, you could just listen to it and make your own mind up. 👇

First up, you’ve got the title track: Happiness in Liquid Form.

Then you’ve got Things I Thought Were Mine.

And then? Well, you’ve only got Maybe This Is Time.

You might recognise this one – it’s called Obvious Guy. Ringing any bells?

And then Wish I Was Younger. This is veering towards the ‘Quite A Good EP’ end of the spectrum, innit?

And then – AND THEN – the oh-so-sultry My Best Friend closes off proceedings with a slap, a bang, and a hearty dose of chorus.

Not bad, eh? Happiness in Liquid Form by Alfie Templeman is out now, by the way.
