Nineties pop-star-turned-songwriter Cathy Dennis has written a lot of very good songs.
She wrote Once by Diana Vickers, for example – which is, indisputably, a bop. You know Reach by S Club 7, too? Well, Cathy wrote that too.
She’s also written a few great songs – I Kissed A Girl, for example, and Toxic by a little-known recording artisté called Britney Spears.
