Mr Worldwide is becoming Mr Central London
Pitbull at BST Hyde Park? Come on, we all know that this is going to be fun.
In a few short weeks, everyone’s favourite motivational speaker heads to Hyde Park for what already feels like one of next summer’s most joyfully ridiculous days out. This is a man with a back catalogue built for sunshine, pints, arms in the air and people shouting every word like they have just remembered how many massive songs he actually has.
So, before the man himself lands in London, here are six reminders of why Pitbull at BST Hyde Park is going to be a proper moment.
Timber
Let’s be honest: Timber is going to go off.
The harmonica intro alone is enough to send a field into chaos, and then Kesha comes in with one of the biggest pop hooks of the 2010s. It’s silly, massive and completely impossible to resist. Kesha is also on the BST Hyde Park bill, so yes, we are absolutely allowing ourselves to get excited about this one.
.
Rain Over Me
Because Rain Over Me is one of those songs that sounds like it was designed to be blasted outdoors while everyone pretends they can sing like Marc Anthony.
.
Give Me Everything
If you were anywhere near a club, student union, school disco, gym playlist or radio in the early 2010s, Give Me Everything is probably hardwired into your brain. Ne-Yo’s chorus is enormous, Afrojack’s production still has that punch, and Pitbull sounds exactly like a man who knows the whole room is about to lose it.
.
International Love
International Love is classic Mr Worldwide behaviour. It’s slick, sunny and very much committed to the bit – or, everything that Pitbull embodies. We think that this one’s going to go off.
.
We Are One (Ole Ola)
A World Cup song in Hyde Park in the middle of summer? Yes please.
.
Feel This Moment
That A-ha sample. Christina Aguilera going full powerhouse. Pitbull giving motivational toast-at-the-bar energy. Feel This Moment is nostalgic, euphoric and just the right amount of dramatic – what more could you ask for on a summertime evening in Central London?
.
Basically, this one’s going to be a laugh.
A big, loud, nostalgic, hands-in-the-air laugh.
Dale.
