Rock Rising

These Are The Super-Hot Rising Rock Stars That You Need To Keep An Eye On Throughout 2020 And Beyond

So here’s the deal, dear reader.

We’ve spent the last twelve months scouring the Internet in search of the biggest, baddest, and loudest rock ‘n’ roll bands from all corners of the globe. We’ve then popped all of these bands into one handy playlist and gotten our resident rocker – that’s Ms. Hannah O’Brien – to pick out her best of the bunch and tell you exactly why you need to check them out.

The full playlist is at the bottom of the page and Hannah‘s picks are right here. Enjoy:

Bones UK – ‘Creature’

‘Our first highlighted track comes from London Rock duo, Bones UK. Their combination of gritty riffs, vocalist Rosie Bones’ wonderfully distinguishable vocal tone, and incredibly catchy pop hooks captivated us from the onset, and we’re extremely eager to see what 2020 holds for this fabulous duo. The sky’s the limit for these two.

Petrol Girls – ‘No Love For a Nation’

‘Now for something slightly different from feminist post-hardcore Punks, Petrol Girls. Throughout the quartet’s sophomore album, they invoke strong, powerful thoughts of change and of a brand new movement arising. Sounds timely, doesn’t it?

‘We could only showcase one track within this playlist, so we chose ‘No Love For a Nation’; as, in our eyes, this track wholly sums up both the album’s feeling and the band’s strong avocation for change in the UK. They mix Punk with politics and there isn’t a better pairing within music.

Nova Twins – ‘Vortex’

‘For my final highlight of One on One‘s Rising Rock Spotify playlist, we turn to genre-fusing UK duo, Nova Twins. With a heavy, crushing bass line running through each of their releases so far, Georgia South and Amy Love take this to a whole other level with their latest track, ‘Vortex’.

‘Boasting an incredibly diverse sound, there’s certainly no pigeon-holing this band’s music; indeed, you can trace their influences all the way from bass-heavy Punk Rock to more of a Hip Hop standpoint. Whichever track you choose from Nova Twins, they enter it with boundless energy and a true diversity to their sound – and that, reader, is why we can’t recommend them highly enough.

Not bad, eh? Well, if you liked those, then you’ll definitely want to check out One on One’s full Rising Rock playlist:
